Books For Teaching Children About Emotions
Today more and more parents are learning about emotions and self regulation/co regulation and are looking at ways to teach children about their own emotions.
We are fortunate to have access to so many resources which can help us when it comes to discussing emotions with children and today I am listening my favourite books to sit down and read with children to help teach them about emotions.

- Sometimes I am Angry – Campbell Little Feelings Book (ages 3-5)
I love the Campbell books and so do my young daughters. They are bright and vibrant with great animations and are short and concise to keep little one’s attention. There are a series of feelings books by Campbell which are novelty board books about each feeling and introduce emotional intelligence to young children.
Sometimes I am Angry helps young children to start managing their emotions. They can lift the flaps, slide the tabs and turn the wheel to explore what anger is, why they might get angry and how they can calm their anger.
With delightful illustrations from Marie Paruit on every page, this is the perfect book for parents and carers to share with young children who may be experiencing episodes of anger and to develop their emotional intelligence. My daughters and I have only just discovered Mary Nhin’s wonderful books they are well worth a read.
